Call for Artistic Director 2016-2017

Soliloquies Anthology is looking for an Artistic Director!

The Artistic Director is responsible for all aspects of Soliloquies Anthology’s layout, formatting, promotional materials and design, both online and in-print. While the Artistic Director will take direction from the Editors-in-Chief regarding established consistency in the journal’s appearance, they will be encouraged to independently develop their own vision for the anthology’s artistic direction. Experience with and access to the Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign) is required. Candidates with previous design or publishing experience are preferred. Previous promotional materials, including Soliloquies Anthology’s logo and typefaces, will be provided.

The duties of Artistic Director are a fabulous way to build experience and a portfolio for future opportunities in the field of design, and the Artistic Director is given the responsibility and privilege of designing Soliloquies as they envision it. If you have the chops and have ideas about what makes print media compelling, we’d love to hear from you.

All members of the Editorial Committee actively contribute to other aspects of the production of the journal, outside of their job descriptions. They will participate in editorial meetings, offer suggestions for the development of our journal’s reputation, and assist in the execution of our publication, launch parties, and other contributor engagement initiatives affiliated with the journal. Interests and skills beyond the scope of the job description are an asset. Familiarity with the literary arts community is beneficial.

Preference will be given to applicants who are undergraduate students in the English Literature or Creative Writing programs, but undergraduate students from any program are welcome to apply. Editors must be Montreal-based Concordia students through the entirety of the 2016-2017 academic year. Full-time status is not required.

All interested applicants must provide an updated CV outlining any relevant qualifications, a brief portfolio of their prior design work, and a 300-word cover letter to soliloquies.concordia@gmail.com by 11:59PM on July 31st, 2016. Interviews will be held in early August.
